Modern Slavery Act Statement
Published pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
This statement is made on behalf of PDA Law Solicitors Limited for the financial year ending 2025, in accordance with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Introduction
PDA Law Solicitors Limited is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships. We are committed to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place anywhere in our business or in any of our supply chains.
Our Organisation
PDA Law Solicitors Limited is a private limited company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 08133025), authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA No. 622755). We are a law firm based in Chester, providing legal services to individuals and businesses across England and Wales.
Our supply chains are limited in nature, primarily comprising professional services, IT and technology providers, office supplies, and facilities management. We do not operate in sectors typically associated with high modern slavery risk.
Our Policies
We operate a number of internal policies to ensure we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include:
- Recruitment policy: We use only reputable employment agencies and always verify the identity and right to work of all employees
- Whistleblowing policy: We encourage staff to report any concerns about modern slavery or human trafficking without fear of retaliation
- Code of conduct: Our code of conduct makes clear the standards of behaviour expected of all staff
- Anti-bribery and corruption policy: See our Anti-Bribery & Corruption statement
Due Diligence
As part of our efforts to monitor and reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains, we:
- Assess the risk profile of our supply chains on an ongoing basis
- Require key suppliers to confirm their compliance with applicable laws, including the Modern Slavery Act 2015
- Include appropriate contractual provisions in supplier agreements
- Conduct due diligence on new suppliers before engagement
Risk Assessment
We have assessed the risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chains as low. As a professional services firm, our supply chains are primarily domestic and involve reputable, regulated organisations. We do not source goods or services from high-risk jurisdictions or sectors.
However, we recognise that modern slavery can occur in unexpected contexts and we remain vigilant.
Training and Awareness
We provide training and awareness to our staff on modern slavery and human trafficking, including how to identify potential indicators and how to report concerns. This training is provided as part of our induction process and is refreshed periodically.
Key Performance Indicators
We measure our effectiveness in combating modern slavery through the following indicators:
- Number of staff trained on modern slavery awareness
- Number of concerns raised and investigated
- Review of supplier compliance confirmations
