At PDA Law, we have a specialist team who are here to offer advice and support if you are experiencing challenges in the workplace. Our solicitors have extensive experience in advising employees about their legal rights and protecting them in the event of unfair treatment at work.

Many companies do not operate in-house HR departments and it isn’t always easy to find information relating to your rights as an employee. If you are facing bullying and harassment from managers and colleagues, or have been treated unfairly in any way, we can advise you on your next steps.

We can also help you raise grievances against employers and discuss issues about discrimination at work. What’s more, if you have to leave your current place of work and need assistance negotiating exit strategies and compromise agreements, our expert private client solicitors have helped many individuals in a similar situation.

For a no-obligation chat about your case, call our specialist employment law team on 01244 757325. Alternatively, head over to our online contact form to leave your details and we will be in touch.

Our Employment Law Services

PDA Law have a team of employment law experts headed up by Paul D’Ambrogio, and are able to offer a range of services for employees in the following areas of employment law:

  • Guidance and day-to-day support
  • Documentation (including service and compromise agreements)
  • Planning for business change
  • Employment Tribunals

If you are experiencing difficulties with your employer and are looking for help and advice, contact the team at PDA Law today to find out the best way to proceed, and for an honest opinion on the strength of your case.

We can also provide employment law services for employers as part of our Commercial Law service, and Paul is also a key contact for any enquiries from employers. This gives him and the team good insight into both sides of common disputes, so again we can help you to understand your commitments to employees and advise on any claims and tribunals brought against you.

Employment Tribunal Claims

Employment Tribunals usually relate to one of several key disputes, including unfair dismissal, discrimination claims and unfair deductions from pay. The time limit for making a claim is usually three months, which starts either from the date of the incident, or when your employment ends.

You should explore other options first, including any in-house grievance procedures offered by your employer, and the Early Conciliation service offered by Acas. If you attempt Acas conciliation, the time you spend on this will normally be added on to your deadline for making an Employment Tribunal claim.

Possible outcomes from Employment Tribunals may include:

  • Compensation payments
  • Recompense for witness expenses
  • Improved working conditions
  • Returning to your job after unfair dismissal

It is normal to feel uncertain about returning to a workplace where you feel you have been unfairly treated, and our team can help you to decide the best course of action if you win your case but still feel unable to go back to your old job.

Workplace Bullying and Harassment

Bullying in the workplace does not have to relate to discrimination based on gender, race, disability, age or sexual orientation, or to any other specific type of discrimination.

It can also include malicious rumours, any unfair treatment, regular verbal abuse or consistently being undermined, and being blocked for promotion opportunities.

This can happen by telephone, email, in writing or face-to-face, and your employer should have a policy on tackling workplace bullying.

If bullying is based on a specific type of discrimination, such as those listed above, it may qualify as harassment, which is illegal – and in such cases, you can take the case to an Employment Tribunal for an independent verdict.

Our Employment Law Team

As mentioned, our employment law team is headed by Paul D’Ambrogio, a renowned solicitor in the Chester area. We have successfully dealt with many employment cases, helping our clients gain the fair outcome they deserve time after time, and can provide insight from both the employee’s and the employer’s point of view thanks to our work in Commercial Law.

Our solicitors take the time to explain your options and provide practical advice about how we can work together to protect your rights and regain control of your situation. We will always handle your case with care and sensitivity.

We know that starting legal proceedings against a former or current employer is a difficult and stressful situation and we will do everything we can to alleviate that stress, including advising you on returning to the workplace if you are successful in a claim of unfair dismissal.

PDA Law’s expert employment team is ready to help you with your case. Simply call us on 01244 757325 or fill out our online contact form and we will call you back at a time that is convenient for you. All enquiries are welcome – you don’t need to be certain yet of whether you want to make a claim against your employer.

What Our Customers Say About Us

Quick & Responsive

Honestly I would recommend PDA for any agency/landlord deposit dispute. Jane was such a dream to work with and she got me a good compensation. She was quick and responsive throughout the whole process as well as transparent. She kept me in the loop with all correspondence with the agency/landlord. She also knows her stuff. Would recommend PDA law.

They provided us with realistic timescales

It was our first time we dealt with PDA law for our conveyancing. We were recommended to them by the Property agency. We are glad we had a good experience with PDA law, especially during lockdowns and Christmas period. They made sure, they had all the paper-work in place with all searches done in time. They provided us with realistic timescales, so that there is no disappointment towards the end. Looking forward to deal with them in the near future.
