At PDA Law, we have a specialist team who are here to offer advice and support if you are experiencing challenges in the workplace. Our solicitors have extensive experience in advising employees about their legal rights and protecting them in the event of unfair treatment at work.
Many companies do not operate in-house HR departments and it isn’t always easy to find information relating to your rights as an employee. If you are facing bullying and harassment from managers and colleagues, or have been treated unfairly in any way, we can advise you on your next steps.
We can also help you raise grievances against employers and discuss issues about discrimination at work. What’s more, if you have to leave your current place of work and need assistance negotiating exit strategies and compromise agreements, our expert private client solicitors have helped many individuals in a similar situation.
For a no-obligation chat about your case, call our specialist employment law team on 01244 373 373. Alternatively, head over to our online contact form to leave your details and we will be in touch.

- Guidance and day-to-day support

We can also provide employment law services for employers as part of our Commercial Law service, and Paul is also a key contact for any enquiries from employers. This gives him and the team good insight into both sides of common disputes, so again we can help you to understand your commitments to employees and advise on any claims and tribunals brought against you.
Employment Tribunal Claims
Employment Tribunals usually relate to one of several key disputes, including unfair dismissal, discrimination claims and unfair deductions from pay. The time limit for making a claim is usually three months, which starts either from the date of the incident, or when your employment ends.
You should explore other options first, including any in-house grievance procedures offered by your employer, and the Early Conciliation service offered by Acas. If you attempt Acas conciliation, the time you spend on this will normally be added on to your deadline for making an Employment Tribunal claim.
Possible outcomes from Employment Tribunals may include:
- Compensation payments
- Recompense for witness expenses
- Improved working conditions
- Returning to your job after unfair dismissal
It is normal to feel uncertain about returning to a workplace where you feel you have been unfairly treated, and our team can help you to decide the best course of action if you win your case but still feel unable to go back to your old job.
Workplace Bullying and Harassment
Bullying in the workplace does not have to relate to discrimination based on gender, race, disability, age or sexual orientation, or to any other specific type of discrimination.
It can also include malicious rumours, any unfair treatment, regular verbal abuse or consistently being undermined, and being blocked for promotion opportunities.
This can happen by telephone, email, in writing or face-to-face, and your employer should have a policy on tackling workplace bullying.
If bullying is based on a specific type of discrimination, such as those listed above, it may qualify as harassment, which is illegal – and in such cases, you can take the case to an Employment Tribunal for an independent verdict.
Our Employment Law Team
